Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah offers a distinctive island lifestyle beside the Arabian Gulf. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events and luxury services provide strong employment opportunities, especially for multilingual candidates. UAE culture blends Islamic traditions with a highly international, modern way of life; respectful dress and behavior are important, particularly during Ramadan. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, desert excursions and excellent public transport, although summer temperatures are extremely hot. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas. The employer normally arranges the work permit, medical examination, Emirates ID and residency procedures after hiring. Review the contract carefully for salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, probation and gratuity terms. New arrivals should budget for deposits and initial living costs, confirm whether housing is provided, and bring attested documents, passport copies and educational or employment certificates where required.
