Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is a Gulf country rather than an island, with Dubai offering abundant opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, and events. The culture blends Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage, and a highly international expatriate community. Dubai’s lifestyle is modern and active, with beaches, shopping, dining, desert activities, and excellent public transport, although summers are extremely hot. Hospitality employees commonly receive employer-sponsored residence visas, work permits, medical insurance, and sometimes accommodation, meals, and transport. A valid employment contract and official sponsorship are essential; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Relocation costs, housing deposits, and daily expenses should be planned carefully. English is widely used in hospitality, while Arabic and other languages can improve career prospects. Respectful dress and conduct are expected, particularly during religious occasions.
