Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, although Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah is a man-made island and a major resort destination. Hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, finance, construction, technology and healthcare offer many employment opportunities, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. UAE culture blends Islamic traditions with a highly international lifestyle; respectful dress and behaviour are expected, especially during Ramadan. Dubai offers beaches, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, desert activities and excellent public transport, but accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, work permit, medical examination and Emirates ID after hiring. Visitors must not work on a tourist visa. Candidates should confirm whether accommodation, meals, transport, insurance and flights are included in the offer. Relocation is generally straightforward, but applicants should budget for deposits and initial living costs.
