Working in Qatar

Qatar is a compact Gulf country rather than an island, while Qetaifan Island North is a developing leisure destination within Lusail. Job opportunities are strongest in hospitality, tourism, events, retail, construction, aviation, finance, and technology. Qatar’s culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international expatriate community; modest dress, respect for local customs, and awareness of Ramadan practices are important. Lifestyle options include beaches, shopping malls, museums, restaurants, desert excursions, and sports venues. Employers commonly arrange work visas, residence permits, medical checks, and sometimes accommodation or transport, although benefits vary by contract. New arrivals should confirm housing, insurance, airfare, gratuity, and sponsorship details before accepting an offer. Doha and Lusail offer modern infrastructure, reliable public transport, and generally low personal taxation, but living costs can be high near premium districts. English is widely used in business.
