Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest range of professional opportunities. Employment is strong in aviation, tourism, logistics, finance, technology, healthcare, construction, retail, and government-linked organisations. The country is highly international, while local traditions, Islamic values, hospitality, and respect for family remain important. Lifestyle options range from modern city living and beaches to desert activities, shopping, and cultural attractions. Most foreign workers require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers generally arrange permits, medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and related formalities. Dependants may be sponsored subject to salary and visa rules. New arrivals should budget carefully for rent, schooling, transport, health insurance, and deposits, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. UAE employment contracts, qualifications, passport validity, and document attestation should be checked before relocation.
