The Assistant Front Office Manager supports the Front Office Manager in running smooth, welcoming and efficient guest services. Responsibilities typically include supervising reception and concierge operations, coordinating check-in and check-out, handling guest feedback, monitoring room availability, supporting upselling and ensuring accurate billing and service standards. Candidates are generally expected to have hotel front office experience, strong communication and leadership skills, good knowledge of English and familiarity with hotel property-management systems. Experience in a luxury or international hotel is advantageous. The successful candidate should be customer-focused, well organised, calm under pressure, comfortable working shifts and able to coach colleagues while maintaining Shangri-La’s service standards.
Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its properties are known for attentive service, comfortable surroundings and a strong emphasis on personalised guest experiences. Shangri-La Hotel Singapore is located near Orchard Road and serves business travellers, leisure guests, families and events. The company places importance on genuine hospitality, teamwork, professional development and cultural awareness. Employees typically work in a structured international environment with opportunities to gain experience across hotel departments and destinations. Benefits and employment conditions vary by role and contract, but hospitality staff may receive meals, uniforms, medical coverage, service-related incentives and employee travel or hotel benefits.
Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and retail. Hospitality jobs are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, Changi and the central business district. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Public transport is excellent, and daily life is safe and convenient, although rent and general expenses can be high. Singapore offers modern shopping, diverse food, green spaces and easy access to nearby Southeast Asian destinations. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and sector rules. Before relocating, confirm sponsorship, housing, insurance, taxes and contract benefits. Staff accommodation is not guaranteed, so budgeting carefully and checking the commute is important.
