The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the department by coordinating room and public-area cleaning activities, updating room status, handling guest and internal requests, preparing reports, and maintaining effective communication with housekeeping and other hotel departments. Candidates should have strong organisational and communication skills, attention to detail, basic computer proficiency, and a service-oriented attitude. Previous hotel or housekeeping experience is advantageous, while knowledge of hotel operating procedures and relevant property-management systems may be preferred. As a UAE National position, applicants must meet applicable Emiratisation requirements and be eligible to work in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate is expected to be professional, discreet, dependable, flexible with shifts, and committed to Shangri-La’s standards of cleanliness, guest service, teamwork, and confidentiality.
Shangri-La is an international luxury hospitality group known for Asian-inspired service, elegant hotels, resorts, and city properties. Founded in Singapore, the group operates across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other global destinations. Shangri-La properties typically offer accommodation, restaurants, banqueting, wellness facilities, and meetings and events services. The brand places strong emphasis on warm hospitality, personalised guest experiences, professional standards, and employee development. In the United Arab Emirates, Shangri-La operates luxury hospitality properties serving business travellers, holidaymakers, local residents, and major events. Employees generally work in a multicultural environment where teamwork, presentation, discretion, and attention to detail are highly valued. Benefits can vary by property and position, but hospitality roles may include accommodation or housing support, meals, transport, medical coverage, annual leave, and travel-related benefits.
The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf country rather than an island, offering strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, construction, technology, and healthcare. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the main employment centres, while Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and other emirates also have growing hospitality markets. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati customs, and a large international community. Visitors and residents should dress respectfully in public areas, observe local laws, and be especially mindful during Ramadan. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert activities, and shopping to restaurants, cultural sites, and outdoor excursions. Most expatriates require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; UAE Nationals generally follow citizen employment procedures, including Emiratisation requirements. Relocating candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, working hours, leave, and other benefits before accepting an offer. The climate is hot for much of the year, with milder winters and high summer humidity.
