Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a diverse coastal lifestyle across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and other emirates. Hospitality, tourism, facilities management, construction, aviation, retail and business services provide regular employment opportunities. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati hospitality and a highly international population; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Lifestyle options range from beaches, shopping and dining to desert activities and cultural attractions. Most expatriate employees live in shared or private accommodation, with transport and healthcare costs varying by emirate. Employers commonly arrange a work permit and residence visa, subject to UAE approval and medical screening. UAE Nationals generally receive additional Emiratisation support and benefits. New arrivals should confirm salary, housing, insurance, transport, working hours and end-of-service terms before accepting an offer.
