The Senior Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice to Shangri-La’s corporate and regional operations, with a primary focus on disputes, litigation, investigations, risk management and commercial matters. Requirements typically include a Hong Kong-qualified solicitor or barrister qualification, substantial experience in dispute resolution and commercial law, and strong knowledge of litigation strategy, contracts and regulatory issues. The successful candidate should communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, manage external counsel effectively, exercise sound judgment and work independently across multiple jurisdictions. Experience in the hospitality, property, retail or multinational corporate sectors would be advantageous. Fluency in English is essential; Cantonese or Mandarin would be beneficial.
Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong. It operates hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets under the Shangri-La, Shangri-La Resorts, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders brands. The group is known for premium service, Asian-inspired hospitality and a substantial presence in luxury urban and resort destinations. Its corporate functions support a geographically diverse portfolio involving hotel operations, property development, investments, procurement, technology and brand management. Working for Shangri-La’s legal team can provide exposure to complex commercial arrangements, international operations, real estate matters, disputes and regulatory issues. The company generally values professionalism, cultural awareness, collaboration and a strong service mindset, even in corporate and specialist roles.
Hong Kong is a compact international business hub with strong opportunities in legal services, finance, hospitality, property, technology, retail and professional consulting. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, and English is widely used in business, while Cantonese and Mandarin are valuable advantages. Lifestyle options range from high-rise urban living, restaurants and nightlife to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, particularly on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon, so many professionals compare neighbourhoods and commute times carefully. Eligible overseas professionals normally require an employment visa, commonly through the General Employment Policy, with employer sponsorship and evidence that the role and salary meet immigration requirements. Dependants may usually apply for visas linked to the employee’s status. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, healthcare coverage and an identity card after approval.
