Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, engineering, property management, finance, technology, retail and professional services. Hotel engineering roles are concentrated in areas such as Central, Admiralty, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon and major resort districts. The culture is fast-paced, international and highly practical, combining Cantonese traditions with global business influences. Lifestyle options range from dense urban neighborhoods and excellent public transport to hiking, beaches and quieter outlying islands. Rent is expensive, especially near central business districts, so many workers live in Kowloon or the New Territories. Eligible overseas professionals normally require an employment visa, commonly through the General Employment Policy, with employer sponsorship and proof of qualifications, experience and a genuine job offer. Dependants may usually apply for dependent visas. Arrange accommodation, insurance, banking and document verification before relocation, and check current immigration requirements with Hong Kong authorities.
