About the employer

Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. The group is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and thoughtfully designed guest experiences. Its Hong Kong properties serve business and leisure travellers and offer opportunities across rooms, food and beverage, culinary, engineering, wellness and corporate functions. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment with structured hotel procedures, training opportunities and a strong focus on guest satisfaction. Compensation and benefits vary by property, position and experience, and may include meals, uniforms, medical coverage, staff rates and other employment benefits.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, technology, logistics and professional services. The culture combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, festivals, efficient public transport and a fast-paced working style. Lifestyle options range from dense urban districts and harbourfront areas to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Foreign nationals normally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer generally sponsors the application and must demonstrate a genuine position and suitable salary. Applicants should prepare a passport, qualifications, employment records and supporting documents. Housing is compact and often expensive, so staff accommodation or a housing allowance is worth checking. New arrivals should arrange local banking, an identity card, healthcare coverage and transport access. Cantonese is valuable for local guest service, while English is widely used in hotels.
