Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are available in hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, tourism, retail and aviation, with strong demand for service, culinary, sales and administrative professionals. UAE society blends Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle. Arabic and English are widely used, and dress should be respectful, particularly in public and religious settings. Residents enjoy modern shopping, beaches, desert activities, dining and extensive transport networks, although summers are extremely hot. Most foreign employees need an employer-sponsored residence visa and work permit; medical checks and Emirates ID registration are normally required. UAE Nationals generally follow local employment and Emiratisation arrangements. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, probation terms and visa sponsorship before relocating. Living costs vary greatly, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi usually more expensive than the northern emirates.
