The Senior Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice to Shangri-La’s corporate and operating businesses, with a focus on commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk management and dispute support. The role typically requires a Hong Kong-qualified solicitor, or a lawyer qualified in another common-law jurisdiction, with substantial experience in-house or at a respected law firm. Candidates should have strong commercial judgment, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and experience handling cross-border matters. A background in hospitality, property, hotel management, or a multinational organisation would be advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to work independently, communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and provide practical, business-oriented advice.
Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-headquartered luxury hospitality company with hotels, resorts and serviced residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Established in 1971, the group is known for its premium brands, including Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders. Its businesses cover hotel ownership, management and hospitality-related services, supported by a broad corporate organisation in areas such as legal, finance, human resources, technology and commercial development. Shangri-La promotes Asian-inspired hospitality, thoughtful service and long-term relationships with guests, colleagues and business partners. Corporate roles in Hong Kong may support multiple jurisdictions and require collaboration with hotel operations, development teams, external advisers and senior executives.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in legal, finance, hospitality, property, technology, trade and regional corporate services. The city has a fast-paced, international culture that combines Cantonese traditions, global business practices, excellent dining and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and nearby islands. Housing can be expensive, but public transport is efficient and comprehensive. International schools, healthcare and everyday services are widely available, although living space is often limited. Foreign professionals generally require an employment visa sponsored by their employer; the role, salary and qualifications must meet Immigration Department requirements. Eligible professionals may apply through the General Employment Policy, while dependants can usually accompany approved visa holders. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, a Hong Kong Identity Card, banking and local health insurance. Hong Kong is well connected to Mainland China and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
