Working in Indonesia

Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and other resort islands, especially in front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, wellness and guest services. Bali is the most international market, while Lombok and smaller islands offer a quieter lifestyle and growing tourism demand. Local culture values courtesy, community, religious traditions and respectful dress, with Hindu, Muslim and other cultural practices varying by region. Living costs depend heavily on location; Bali resort areas can be expensive, while smaller towns are more affordable. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work and stay permits before starting employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with permits, accommodation, transport, meals or insurance, but this should be confirmed in writing. New arrivals should arrange reliable housing, health coverage and document translations before relocating.
