Working in United Arab Emirates

Although the UAE is not an island, it offers a diverse coastal lifestyle across seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ras Al Khaimah. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, healthcare, finance, and technology provide many employment opportunities. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress and respect for Islamic customs are important, especially during Ramadan. Lifestyle choices range from beaches, malls, restaurants, and desert activities to museums and outdoor attractions. Most foreign employees need an employer-sponsored residence and work visa, with medical checks and Emirates ID registration required. UAE Nationals generally follow different employment and documentation procedures. Employers may offer accommodation, transport, medical insurance, flights, or gratuity, but packages vary. Before relocating, candidates should confirm contract terms, housing, transport, probation, working hours, and leave entitlements.
