About the employer

Shangri-La is a globally recognised luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. The brand is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and distinctive luxury properties. In the United Arab Emirates, the company operates prominent luxury hotels and resorts, including properties in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Employees generally work in a multicultural environment with structured operational procedures, training opportunities and exposure to international hospitality standards. The group places strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, professionalism, teamwork and responsible business practices. This coordinator position offers an opportunity to build administrative and facilities experience within an established international hotel organisation.

Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are available in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events, engineering, retail and aviation. UAE workplaces are multicultural and professional, while local customs value modest dress, respect for Islamic traditions and polite behaviour. The lifestyle combines modern cities, beaches, desert activities, shopping and international dining, although summer temperatures are extremely high. Employers commonly provide work visas, medical insurance and sometimes accommodation, transport or meals; UAE Nationals usually follow national employment programmes rather than expatriate sponsorship arrangements. Foreign workers need an employer-sponsored residence visa and cannot normally work on a tourist visa. Housing and schooling can be expensive, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so applicants should confirm the full benefits package, working hours, transport arrangements and probation terms before relocating.
