About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-based luxury hospitality company operating hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Founded in 1971, the group is known for its distinctive Asian hospitality, premium accommodation, restaurants, meeting facilities and wellness services. Its portfolio includes Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN by Shangri-La and Traders brands, as well as properties managed for owners in different markets. The company employs a large multinational workforce and places emphasis on gracious service, operational excellence, guest satisfaction and long-term relationships. Corporate functions such as legal, finance, technology, human resources and development support the group’s global hotel network. A role in Hong Kong may involve advising headquarters, regional operations and hotel or property interests across multiple jurisdictions.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in legal services, hospitality, finance, technology, property, retail and international business. Its culture combines Cantonese traditions, British influences and a highly global outlook; English is widely used in professional settings, while Cantonese and Mandarin are valuable locally. Life is fast-paced, convenient and urban, with excellent public transport, dense dining and shopping options, vibrant arts, beaches and hiking trails. Housing is expensive, especially near Central and popular residential districts, so many professionals choose areas such as Kowloon, the New Territories or Hong Kong Island suburbs. Foreign nationals generally need an appropriate employment visa sponsored by the employer, and applicants must normally demonstrate qualifications and relevant experience. Employers usually guide successful hires through the process. New arrivals should budget carefully, arrange health insurance and secure accommodation before starting work. Hong Kong is well connected to mainland China and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
