Shangri-La is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. The group is known for attentive service, strong hospitality standards and its signature Asian-inspired approach to guest care. Shangri-La hotels employ colleagues across rooms, food and beverage, culinary, engineering, finance and guest services. The Hong Kong properties serve business and leisure travelers and typically offer structured operating procedures, staff training and opportunities to progress within the wider hotel group. Employment benefits can vary by property and may include meals, uniforms, medical coverage, staff discounts and other allowances. Exact duties, benefits and salary for this position should be confirmed directly with the recruiting hotel.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, logistics, technology and international business. Hospitality workers may find roles in luxury hotels, serviced residences, clubs and event venues, although competition is high and Cantonese is often an advantage. The culture combines traditional Chinese customs with international influences; respect, punctuality and efficient service are highly valued. Lifestyle is fast-paced, urban and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, hiking and beaches. Rent can be expensive, especially near major business districts, so many newcomers share accommodation or live in areas connected by the MTR. Foreign employees generally need an employment visa arranged through an eligible employer before starting work. Applicants must meet qualification and salary requirements and cannot normally work on a visitor status. Bring passport, qualifications, references and medical or police documents if requested, and verify housing and visa terms before relocating.
