About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company headquartered in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, residences, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. The group is known for its Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts brand, recognized for Asian-inspired hospitality, personalized service, and premium guest experiences. Its portfolio includes urban luxury properties, destination resorts, and lifestyle offerings serving leisure, business, meetings, and long-stay guests. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on service excellence, cultural understanding, responsible business practices, and developing its colleagues. A corporate digital acquisition role supports the group’s commercial performance by strengthening direct customer relationships, improving online visibility, and encouraging bookings through the company’s own digital channels rather than third-party platforms.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, digital marketing, finance, technology, retail, aviation, and international business. Its culture combines Cantonese traditions, global influences, efficient urban living, and a fast-paced professional environment. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, cultural venues, hiking trails, beaches, and easy access to nearby islands and mainland China. Accommodation can be expensive, especially in central districts, although areas such as Kowloon, the New Territories, and Lantau may offer better value. Foreign professionals generally require an employment visa, commonly through the General Employment Policy, with employer sponsorship and proof of qualifications, a confirmed job, and market-level salary. Dependants may usually apply for accompanying visas. Applicants should arrange housing, medical coverage, banking, and tax registration before or soon after arrival. Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and professional settings.
