Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities across major destinations including Boracay, Cebu, Mactan, Palawan, Manila, Bohol and Davao. Resort islands provide a relaxed coastal lifestyle, warm weather, beaches and strong tourism communities, while larger cities offer more transport, shopping and professional services. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented and service-focused, with English widely used in hotels and restaurants. Living costs vary considerably; accommodation and transport should be confirmed with the employer, especially on smaller islands. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored Alien Employment Permit and appropriate work visa or permit before starting employment; requirements can change, so confirmation with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and the employer is essential. Candidates should budget for flights, deposits, medical checks and initial expenses, and research ferry or domestic flight connections when relocating to a resort island.
