Working in United Arab Emirates

Although the UAE is not an island, it offers coastal city living, desert landscapes and access to beaches, islands and waterfront communities. Dubai and Abu Dhabi provide the strongest hospitality, aviation, retail, tourism and events opportunities, while Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Sharjah also have growing hotel markets. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a large international community; modest dress and respectful behaviour are appreciated. Lifestyle options include beaches, shopping, dining, museums, desert trips and water sports, though summers are extremely hot. Employers usually arrange or sponsor work visas, subject to medical checks, Emirates ID registration and labour approval. Packages may include accommodation, transport, meals, insurance and annual flights, but this varies. New arrivals should confirm accommodation, probation, working hours, benefits and relocation costs before accepting an offer.
