Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and known for warm, personalized service. The group operates hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. Shangri-La properties typically offer accommodation, restaurants, bars, meetings and events, wellness facilities and recreation services. The company places strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, Asian-inspired hospitality, professional development and responsible business practices. In Indonesia, Shangri-La has operated major city and resort properties, including hotels serving business travelers, leisure guests and large events. Employees generally work in an international environment with structured hotel standards, opportunities for cross-department experience and training. Exact benefits depend on the property and may include service charge, meals, uniforms, medical coverage, accommodation or transport support.
Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Sumatra and other islands, especially in hotels, resorts, restaurants, villas and tourism businesses. Bali is the most internationally oriented destination, with strong demand in areas such as Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Ubud and Canggu. Jakarta and Surabaya provide more corporate and city-hotel opportunities, while Lombok and other resort islands offer a quieter lifestyle. Indonesian culture values respect, community, religious diversity and polite communication; basic Bahasa Indonesia is useful even in international hotels. Living costs vary considerably, with tourist areas often more expensive. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work and residence permits before starting employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm visa support, accommodation, transport, insurance, working hours and service-charge arrangements directly with Shangri-La before relocating.
