Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering especially strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, events, and business services. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress, courtesy, and respect for Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle can be highly convenient and modern, with excellent restaurants, beaches, shopping malls, desert activities, and year-round sunshine, although summers are extremely hot. Most overseas employees work under an employer-sponsored residence visa. The employer normally arranges the work permit, medical checks, Emirates ID, and residency processing, while requirements can change. Confirm contract terms, accommodation, transport, insurance, annual leave, and airfare before relocating. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are relatively expensive, particularly for housing, but hotel packages can reduce living costs. Public transport is good in major cities, and English is widely used in workplaces.
