Working in Philippines

The Philippines is an archipelago with varied opportunities in tourism, hospitality, diving, marine recreation, food service, and customer support. Popular island destinations such as Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, and Siargao offer a relaxed tropical lifestyle, beaches, water activities, and strong resort employment, while Manila provides broader corporate opportunities. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, community-minded, and generally respectful of international visitors. Living costs vary: resort islands can be expensive for housing and transport, while smaller towns are more affordable. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly arranged with assistance from the company; requirements should be confirmed with Philippine immigration authorities. Employees should plan for humid weather, seasonal typhoons, limited services on smaller islands, and travel between islands by ferry or domestic flight. Accommodation and meals may be included in resort contracts.
