The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supports the Executive Housekeeper in managing daily housekeeping operations, including room cleanliness, public areas, linen control, supplies, inspections and staff scheduling. Candidates should have hotel housekeeping experience, preferably in an upscale or international property, with strong knowledge of cleaning standards, hygiene, health and safety procedures, and quality control. Supervisory or team-lead experience, good communication skills, computer literacy and the ability to train and motivate colleagues are expected. The role requires a hands-on, organised and service-focused professional who can work shifts, weekends and public holidays while maintaining Shangri-La’s guest-service standards.
Shangri-La is a major luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised for hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international markets. Its properties are known for personalised service, comfortable accommodation, dining, wellness facilities and strong attention to local culture. In Malaysia, Shangri-La operates several well-established hotels and resorts, including properties in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sabah and other tourism destinations. The company typically offers structured operational training, career development and opportunities to work across departments or locations. Housekeeping teams play an important role in maintaining guest rooms, public spaces and the high standards associated with the Shangri-La brand. Actual benefits, accommodation, meals and service-charge arrangements vary by property and employment contract.
Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other resort destinations. Island-based work is particularly common in Langkawi, Penang and parts of Sabah, where hotels recruit for housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering, front office and guest activities. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences; English is widely used in hotels, while learning basic Malay helps daily life. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living to relaxed beaches, outdoor activities and affordable local food. Foreign employees normally need an Employment Pass arranged and sponsored by the hiring company before starting work. Requirements depend on nationality, qualifications, salary and the approved position. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, medical coverage, service charge, flights and tax arrangements before relocating.
