About the employer

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and recognised for its hotels, resorts and distinctive service culture. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets under the Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN and Traders brands. Shangri-La hotels typically provide accommodation, restaurants, banqueting, wellness facilities and business services, supported by large teams across hotel operations and corporate functions. In Hong Kong, the company has a long-established presence and is known for high service standards, multicultural workplaces and structured hospitality operations. Employees may benefit from training, internal mobility and exposure to international guests. Specific benefits, working hours and salary depend on the property, grade and employment terms stated in the individual vacancy.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, logistics, technology and professional services. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, and Cantonese, English and Mandarin are widely used in workplaces. Life is energetic and convenient, with excellent public transport, extensive dining, shopping, hiking and access to beaches and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, especially near major business districts, so many workers choose shared accommodation or locations connected by the MTR. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer, while the employer normally supports the application and demonstrates that the role meets immigration requirements. Applicants should prepare passports, qualifications, employment records and, where required, police or medical documents. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, working hours, insurance and visa sponsorship in writing.
