The HVAC & Kitchen / Laundry Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing air-conditioning, refrigeration, kitchen and laundry equipment. Candidates should have a technical diploma or vocational certification, practical experience in HVAC or hotel engineering, and knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. Familiarity with commercial kitchen and laundry machinery is highly desirable. The role requires safe working practices, preventive maintenance skills, accurate reporting and the ability to respond quickly to operational breakdowns. Shangri-La expects a reliable, service-minded team member who can work independently, follow hotel standards, support other engineering duties and remain flexible for rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a Hong Kong-based luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. Its properties are known for attentive service, comfortable accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and strong local character. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates established properties serving business and leisure travelers, including destinations in Metro Manila and resort locations. The company places emphasis on guest satisfaction, professional standards, teamwork and employee development. Engineering colleagues help maintain the safety, comfort and reliability of the property by keeping critical building systems and guest facilities operating efficiently. Benefits and working conditions vary by hotel, but may include meals, uniforms, service charge, medical coverage, training and staff accommodation or transport where applicable.
The Philippines is an archipelago with major employment centers in Manila, Cebu, Clark, Davao and resort areas such as Boracay and Palawan. Hospitality, engineering, construction, business-process outsourcing, healthcare and maritime work provide many opportunities, although resort jobs may be seasonal and wages vary by location. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented and community-minded; English is widely used in workplaces. Life can be affordable outside central Manila, but rent, transport and utilities should be researched carefully. Popular islands offer beaches and outdoor activities, while larger cities provide better shopping, healthcare and professional services. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa before starting employment; requirements may include an Alien Employment Permit and Bureau of Immigration approval. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, medical checks, contract terms and relocation costs directly with Shangri-La before travel.
