Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international destinations. The group is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, distinctive dining experiences, and well-developed guest facilities. Its properties commonly offer restaurants, lounges, banquet services, wellness facilities, recreational activities, and business amenities. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on professional training, teamwork, guest satisfaction, and attention to detail. Depending on the property and local regulations, employees may receive benefits such as meals, uniforms, service charge, medical coverage, staff accommodation, transport, or discounted stays. A Chef de Partie joining Shangri-La would typically work in a structured hotel kitchen, collaborating with senior chefs and other culinary sections while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
Indonesia offers hospitality opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other resort islands, particularly in hotels, restaurants, villas, cruises, and tourism services. Bali is the most international destination, with a relaxed lifestyle, strong expatriate community, beaches, temples, and a busy tourism economy. Java offers larger cities and broader career options, while Lombok and smaller islands provide a quieter environment and growing resort employment. Indonesian culture values hospitality, respect for elders, community, and religious traditions; customs vary between islands. Living costs range from moderate to high in popular tourist areas, and traffic can be significant. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and KITAS or another approved limited-stay authorization. A tourist visa does not permit employment. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, insurance, flights, taxes, and visa sponsorship directly with Shangri-La before relocating.
