About the employer

Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality company operating hotels, resorts and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations. Its brands are known for warm Asian hospitality, attentive service and high standards in accommodation, dining, wellness and guest experiences. Shangri-La hotels typically provide structured operational training, employee benefits and opportunities to develop within rooms, food and beverage, engineering, finance and other departments. In Hong Kong, the group operates well-known luxury properties and employs staff in a multicultural service environment. Team members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, cultural awareness and a strong commitment to cleanliness, safety and guest satisfaction.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers hotel, restaurant, retail, aviation, finance, technology and professional-service opportunities, with hospitality jobs concentrated in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Lantau and the New Territories. The culture combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, efficient public transport and a fast-paced working style. Lifestyle highlights include excellent food, dense urban neighbourhoods, hiking trails, beaches and convenient ferries, trains and buses. Rents can be high, especially close to central business districts, so many workers share accommodation or live in Kowloon or the New Territories. Foreign nationals normally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer generally sponsors the application under the General Employment Policy, supported by a genuine offer and suitable salary and qualifications. Employees should confirm visa, housing, medical and benefit arrangements directly with the employer.
