Working in United Arab Emirates

Although the UAE is not an island, it is a popular Gulf destination with strong opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, catering, aviation, retail and tourism. Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer the widest range of hospitality jobs, while Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and coastal resort areas also have growing demand. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international workforce; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Lifestyle options include beaches, desert activities, shopping, dining and cultural attractions, though summers are extremely hot. Foreign employees normally require employer-sponsored work and residence visas, with medical checks and identity documentation. Employers often assist with visas, accommodation, transport, meals and flights, but packages vary. Candidates should confirm contract terms, probation, working hours, gratuity and benefits before relocating. English is widely used in hospitality, while Arabic is an advantage.
