The Standards Activation Lead is responsible for helping ANZ embed and activate enterprise standards across the organisation. The role typically involves translating policy and risk requirements into practical processes, coordinating implementation across business and support teams, monitoring adoption, identifying gaps, and preparing clear reporting for senior stakeholders. Candidates are expected to bring experience in risk, compliance, governance, operational change, or standards implementation, together with strong communication, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills. Success requires the ability to work across complex environments, influence without direct authority, manage competing priorities, and turn detailed requirements into simple, workable actions. Experience in banking, regulatory obligations, controls, or transformation programs would be advantageous.

ANZ employs a large workforce across branches, corporate offices, technology hubs and international locations. Australia offers opportunities in banking, technology, healthcare, engineering, education, construction, professional services and skilled trades, with Melbourne and Sydney major financial and corporate centres. Workplace culture is generally practical, collaborative and relatively informal, with emphasis on work-life balance, safety and clear communication. Lifestyle varies from lively cities and excellent restaurants to beaches, national parks and regional communities. Housing and childcare can be expensive, particularly in Sydney and Melbourne, while public transport is strongest in major cities. Visa options include employer-sponsored pathways such as the Skills in Demand visa, skilled migration programs, and temporary graduate or partner visas; eligibility depends on occupation, qualifications, experience, English ability and sponsorship. Relocating typically requires budgeting for rent, healthcare, transport and initial settlement costs. Australia is a large island continent, so travel between cities can be expensive and distances should be planned carefully.
