The position typically requires a degree in finance, banking, business, law, or a related field, along with experience in AML, KYC, sanctions screening, investigations, or banking operations. Strong analytical, report-writing, communication, and judgement skills are important. Familiarity with regulatory requirements, transaction-monitoring systems, and risk controls is advantageous.

Founded in 1935, the bank provides personal and commercial banking, wealth management, investment banking, treasury, and transaction banking services. UOB is particularly established in Southeast Asia and serves individuals, businesses, institutions, and multinational companies. The group places strong emphasis on responsible banking, regulatory compliance, digital transformation, customer service, and regional connectivity.
Malaysia offers opportunities in banking, financial technology, shared services, technology, manufacturing, tourism, healthcare, and professional services. Kuala Lumpur is the main commercial hub, while Penang and Johor also have strong employment markets. The country blends Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous cultures, with diverse food, festivals, and generally friendly communities. Living costs are moderate by regional standards, although central Kuala Lumpur housing can be expensive. Malaysia’s islands and coastal destinations, including Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, and parts of Sabah and Sarawak, offer beaches, diving, and nature. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval handled through the relevant immigration and expatriate services. Relocating workers should arrange a valid job offer, passport, qualifications, medical coverage, accommodation, and tax registration before arrival.
