The Assistant Director of Finance supports the Director of Finance in managing the hotel’s accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, controls, and financial compliance. Candidates are generally expected to have a degree or professional qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field, together with several years of hotel finance experience, preferably in an international luxury property. Strong knowledge of hotel accounting systems, Spanish regulations, financial analysis, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and internal controls is valuable. The successful candidate should be highly organised, commercially aware, discreet, and confident communicating with department heads and senior management. Fluency in Spanish and English, advanced Excel skills, leadership ability, and a hands-on approach are likely to be expected.
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is a globally recognised luxury hospitality company operating hotels, resorts, residences, and private retreat properties in major destinations worldwide. Founded in 1961, the company is known for personalised service, high operating standards, elegant accommodation, and strong attention to guest experience. Four Seasons Madrid brings the brand’s luxury positioning to the Spanish capital, combining hotel accommodation, dining, wellness, and event facilities in a historic central setting. The company places significant emphasis on employee development, service culture, teamwork, and operational excellence. Benefits and employment conditions vary by property and local law, but may include training, staff meals, discounts, healthcare arrangements, and career opportunities within the international Four Seasons network.
Spain’s main island employment destinations include Mallorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, and Menorca. Tourism creates opportunities in hotels, restaurants, finance, guest services, events, wellness, maintenance, and marine activities, with demand strongest during the summer season. Island culture is relaxed and community-focused, blending Spanish traditions with regional languages, festivals, seafood, outdoor living, and strong social life. Lifestyle benefits include beaches, mild climates, hiking, and water sports, although housing can be expensive in popular areas and transport may be less convenient than on the mainland. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can work in Spain with the required registration. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and visa before starting employment. Madrid is not an island; candidates should confirm the exact work location, contract, accommodation, and relocation support directly with Four Seasons.
