Working in Malaysia

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Melaka and other resort destinations. Roles are available in hotels, restaurants, resorts, bakeries, spas, events and tourism services, with international brands often providing training and staff benefits. The culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in tourism workplaces. Lifestyle costs are moderate compared with many global cities, although Kuala Lumpur rents vary by area. Malaysia’s islands, beaches and rainforests make it attractive for travel and outdoor activities; Langkawi and Penang are especially popular. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit or Employment Pass, and should not begin work before approval. Employers commonly guide visa processing, medical checks and relocation paperwork. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, meals, insurance and service-charge policies before accepting an offer.
