The Technology Entrepreneur will help build and scale MAS Holdings’ Open Innovation Hub by identifying emerging technologies, developing new business concepts, and connecting start-ups, researchers, investors, and internal teams. Requirements typically include a degree in technology, engineering, business, or a related discipline; experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, product development, venture building, or technology scouting; strong commercial awareness; and excellent communication and networking skills. The successful candidate is expected to work independently, test ideas quickly, manage partnerships, prepare business cases, and turn promising technologies into practical solutions for the apparel and manufacturing sectors. Creativity, strategic thinking, resilience, and an understanding of digital transformation and sustainability will be important.
MAS Holdings is one of South Asia’s leading apparel and textile manufacturers, headquartered in Sri Lanka and operating across multiple countries. The group supplies innovative clothing, intimate apparel, sportswear, and performance solutions to internationally recognised brands. MAS is known for combining design, engineering, advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and responsible business practices. Its operations include product development, manufacturing, technology, logistics, and specialised innovation capabilities. Through initiatives such as open innovation and collaboration with start-ups, universities, and technology partners, the company explores new materials, automation, digital solutions, and sustainable production methods. MAS generally offers a multinational working environment with opportunities to work across functions and markets. The Technology Entrepreneur role is likely connected to its efforts to identify, validate, and commercialise new technologies that can improve the apparel industry and create future growth opportunities.
Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel, manufacturing, technology, finance, tourism, logistics, engineering, and business services. Colombo is the main commercial centre and has the widest choice of professional employment, international schools, healthcare, and modern accommodation. The island combines South Asian, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, and colonial influences, with a relaxed social culture, strong family traditions, and a well-known hospitality ethos. Living costs are generally lower than in major Western cities, although housing in Colombo can be comparatively expensive. Beaches, hill-country towns, wildlife parks, and historic cities make travel accessible throughout the year. Foreign employees normally need an appropriate employment visa or residence approval arranged with employer support before working. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, taxation, healthcare, accommodation, and dependent arrangements before relocating. Sinhala and Tamil are official languages, while English is widely used in corporate workplaces.
