Working in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka offers career opportunities in apparel manufacturing, information technology, finance, tourism, engineering, logistics and business services, particularly around Colombo, Katunayake, Biyagama and Kandy. The island has a warm tropical climate, affordable living compared with many international locations and a generally welcoming, multilingual culture influenced by Sinhalese, Tamil and South Asian traditions. Colombo provides the widest range of housing, transport, schools, healthcare and professional services, while smaller cities offer a quieter lifestyle. English is widely used in business, although learning Sinhala or Tamil can help with daily life. Foreign employees normally require an appropriate employment visa or residence approval arranged with employer support before working. Candidates should confirm salary, benefits, relocation assistance, accommodation, tax obligations and visa sponsorship directly with MAS Holdings. Public transport is inexpensive, but traffic can be heavy around Colombo.
