About the employer

Shangri-La properties are recognized for refined accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities and strong attention to guest comfort and safety. The group also places emphasis on colleague development, service culture, responsible operations and creating welcoming environments for guests, residents and local communities. Depending on the property, employees may receive benefits such as meals, uniforms, medical coverage, training, staff rates and opportunities to transfer within the international network. Working in Indonesia

Indonesia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, residences, tourism, food and beverage, engineering, security and safety, particularly in Bali, Jakarta, Batam, Lombok and other major destinations. Bali is the most popular relocation choice, with an international community, Hindu cultural traditions, ceremonies, beaches and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Living costs vary greatly: accommodation and imported goods are expensive in tourist areas, while local food and transport can remain affordable. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work visa and work permit before starting employment; requirements can change, so candidates should confirm the process with Shangri-La and Indonesian immigration authorities. Employers often assist with sponsorship, documentation and sometimes accommodation or transport. Respect local customs, dress appropriately at religious sites, learn basic Indonesian, and expect tropical weather, traffic and seasonal tourism fluctuations. Healthcare and international schools are strongest in larger cities and established resort areas.
