Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and other resort destinations, with demand for chefs, hotel supervisors, restaurant staff, wellness professionals and event specialists. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented and strongly influenced by Spanish, American and Asian traditions; English is widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities, and living costs are generally lower outside Manila, although popular resort islands can be expensive during peak seasons. Foreign workers normally need an employer-supported Alien Employment Permit and an appropriate work visa, commonly a 9(g) pre-arranged employment visa. Employers usually guide the application process, but requirements and approval times vary. Before relocating, confirm accommodation, meals, transport, service-charge arrangements, medical coverage and contract terms. Seasonal weather, island transport and limited local services should also be considered.
