Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology and healthcare. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Life is safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, modern facilities and a broad dining scene. Housing can be expensive, especially near the city centre, so many employees choose shared accommodation or areas connected by MRT. The tropical climate is hot and humid throughout the year, with frequent rain. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; hospitality professionals may qualify for an S Pass or Employment Pass depending on salary, qualifications and experience, while work permits may apply to selected roles and nationalities. Employers commonly assist with onboarding, but candidates should confirm accommodation, medical coverage, relocation costs and pass arrangements before accepting an offer.
