Corporate teams in Hong Kong support the group’s global commercial, digital, financial, operational and brand activities. Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, retail, marketing and international business. The city combines Chinese traditions with a highly international culture, efficient public transport, busy shopping districts, excellent dining and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and nearby islands. Lifestyle costs are high, particularly rent, but public transport is reliable and many neighbourhoods are convenient without a car. Overseas professionals normally require an employment visa sponsored by the employer, with approval depending on qualifications, relevant experience, salary and proof that the role cannot easily be filled locally. A valid passport, employment contract and supporting documents are usually required. Employers often assist with the application and relocation arrangements. Hong Kong’s summers are hot, humid and rainy, while winters are generally mild. Learning basic Cantonese can help socially, although English is widely used in professional settings.
