The Wellness Attendant supports the cleanliness, order and smooth operation of Shangri-La’s wellness and leisure facilities. Typical duties include cleaning treatment rooms, changing rooms, showers, saunas and public areas; replenishing towels and amenities; checking equipment and reporting maintenance or safety concerns; and assisting guests courteously. The role generally requires previous experience in hotel, spa, housekeeping or cleaning work, a service-minded attitude, physical fitness, attention to detail and the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. Basic English or Cantonese is useful, while Mandarin may be an advantage. Candidates are expected to maintain high hygiene standards, protect guest privacy and work reliably as part of a team.
Shangri-La Group is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality company operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international destinations. Its properties are known for personalised service, refined facilities and the welcoming tradition associated with the Shangri-La brand. In Hong Kong, the group operates several prominent luxury hotels and employs people across guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, wellness, engineering, finance and management. Shangri-La typically places strong emphasis on service quality, professionalism, grooming, teamwork and cultural sensitivity. Employees may benefit from structured training, internal career development and staff hospitality privileges, depending on the property and employment terms. A Wellness Attendant contributes behind the scenes to the clean, safe and relaxing environment expected by hotel guests and members.
Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, technology, healthcare and international business. Hospitality roles are concentrated around Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Lantau and major resort or airport areas. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, British influences and a highly international lifestyle, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping and easy access to beaches and hiking trails. Housing is convenient but expensive, so employees often share apartments or live farther from the city centre. English is widely used in hotels, while Cantonese is valuable for daily life and guest interaction; Mandarin can also help. Foreign nationals normally need an employment visa sponsored by a local employer, and the position must meet immigration requirements. Applicants should confirm salary, accommodation, insurance, working hours and visa support directly with Shangri-La before relocating. Hong Kong is busy and compact, but offers strong career development for service professionals.
