The F&B Sales Manager is responsible for promoting the hotel's restaurants, bars, banquets, catering and food-and-beverage packages to corporate and private clients. Requirements generally include a diploma or degree in hospitality, business or marketing, several years of hotel or F&B sales experience, strong communication skills and good knowledge of the local market. The successful candidate is expected to generate revenue, manage key accounts, prepare proposals and contracts, coordinate with operations, conduct sales calls and site inspections, and achieve monthly targets. Confidence, negotiation ability, professional presentation, customer focus and flexibility for evenings, weekends and events are important. Experience with Shangri-La or other luxury hospitality brands is an advantage.
Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The group is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and properties ranging from urban business hotels to beach and island resorts. Shangri-La hotels commonly provide accommodation, dining, meetings, banquets, wellness and leisure facilities, creating opportunities across both operational and commercial departments. In Malaysia, the company operates established hospitality properties serving business travellers, leisure guests, conferences and social events. Employees are generally expected to deliver personalised service, maintain professional standards and work collaboratively across departments. The organisation also offers opportunities for career development, guest-service training and progression within an international hotel network.
Malaysia offers hospitality, tourism and commercial opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Johor and resort destinations throughout the country. Langkawi, Penang and Sabah are especially attractive for island-resort, F&B, events, diving and guest-relations careers. Malaysian culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences, with English widely used in hotels and business. Lifestyle varies from energetic city living to relaxed beach or rainforest communities; costs are generally moderate, though resort-island housing can be limited or seasonal. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with the company handling approval and immigration procedures. Candidates should confirm eligibility, contract terms, accommodation, transport, medical coverage and service-charge arrangements before relocating. Malaysia has tropical weather year-round, and island locations may involve monsoon seasons, limited amenities and travel by ferry or domestic flight.
