Working in Malaysia

Malaysia offers attractive hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Melaka and other resort destinations. Penang combines heritage architecture, diverse food and a lively urban lifestyle, while Langkawi offers beaches, nature and a quieter island setting. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences reflected in food, festivals and daily life. Living costs are moderate, though resort-island accommodation can be limited and seasonal. Employers usually arrange or sponsor the appropriate employment pass for overseas staff; working without valid authorisation is not permitted. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, medical requirements and contract terms before relocating. English is widely used in hotels, while Malay and other Asian languages are valuable. Malaysia has warm weather year-round, with heavier rain during monsoon periods depending on the region.
