Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are available in hotels, resorts, restaurants, housekeeping, events, tourism, retail and facilities management. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress, respectful behavior and awareness of local customs are important. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, beaches and entertainment, although summer temperatures are extremely high and accommodation costs can be significant. Employers usually arrange an employment visa, residence permit, medical test and Emirates ID for eligible overseas hires. UAE nationals may have access to national employment initiatives and preferential development opportunities. Candidates relocating should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, annual leave and flight benefits before accepting an offer.
