The F&B Coordinator supports the Food and Beverage department with administration, scheduling, reports, correspondence, document control, guest-related coordination and communication between restaurants, kitchens and other hotel teams. Candidates should be UAE nationals, preferably with a diploma or degree in hospitality, business administration or a related field. Previous hotel or food and beverage experience is advantageous, although capable entry-level applicants may be considered. The role requires good written and spoken English, computer literacy, strong organisation, attention to detail and professional communication. The successful candidate is expected to be service-minded, reliable, discreet with information, able to manage competing priorities and comfortable working in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Asia and recognised internationally for its distinctive service, elegant hotels and resorts, and warm, personalised guest experience. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations, offering accommodation, restaurants, bars, meeting facilities, wellness services and leisure experiences. Shangri-La hotels typically place strong emphasis on cultural understanding, colleague development, quality standards and genuine hospitality. In the United Arab Emirates, the company operates luxury properties serving business travellers, families, leisure guests and high-profile events. An F&B Coordinator would normally work closely with restaurant, banquet, kitchen, finance and human-resources teams, helping maintain smooth administrative and operational support for the hotel’s food and beverage outlets.
Although the UAE is not an island, it offers a highly international lifestyle, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with beaches, desert activities, shopping, dining and year-round hospitality employment. Hotels, restaurants, resorts, airlines, events and tourism businesses regularly recruit coordinators, supervisors and operational staff. UAE culture blends Emirati traditions with communities from around the world; modest dress and respectful behaviour are important, particularly during Ramadan and at religious sites. The lifestyle is convenient and modern, but summers are extremely hot and accommodation costs can be high in major cities. For UAE nationals, employers may provide career development and Emiratisation-related support. Expatriate employees generally need an employer-sponsored work and residence visa, medical testing and an Emirates ID. Employers may also offer accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, flights or service charge, depending on the contract.
