Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, healthcare, education and international business. Its hotel industry offers roles for experienced professionals, especially those with luxury-service, HR, language or leadership backgrounds. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally respectful, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle highlights include excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks and a warm tropical climate, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and government approval. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should budget for accommodation deposits, insurance, transport and living costs, and check employment conditions, tax obligations and pass requirements before relocating.
