Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a compact international city with excellent transport, major business districts and a strong hospitality and tourism sector. Hotel professionals can find opportunities in luxury hotels, serviced residences, restaurants, clubs, attractions and facilities management, particularly in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Admiralty, Causeway Bay, Lantau and the airport area. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in hotels and business. Lifestyle options range from vibrant nightlife and shopping to hiking, beaches and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, so many employees share accommodation or live in areas with convenient MTR access. Overseas hires generally need an employment visa sponsored by the employer and must meet Immigration Department requirements, including a confirmed offer and suitable qualifications. Applicants should verify visa, tax, medical and relocation conditions before accepting an offer.
