About the employer

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised for Asian-inspired service, elegant accommodation and personalised guest experiences. The company operates hotels, resorts and serviced residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. Its Hong Kong properties are known for premium facilities, restaurants, event spaces and high standards of housekeeping and guest care. Employees typically work in a structured hotel environment with training, staff meals, uniform provision and possible medical, leave or accommodation-related benefits depending on the property and employment terms. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on hospitality, teamwork, cultural awareness and creating warm, memorable stays for guests.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, transport, healthcare and international business, with hospitality jobs concentrated in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay, Disneyland and resort areas. The culture combines Chinese traditions, Cantonese food and festivals with a highly international, fast-paced lifestyle. Public transport is excellent, although housing can be expensive and space is limited. Employees should budget carefully for rent, food and commuting. Foreign nationals normally require an employment visa arranged with an approved sponsor before starting work; the employer must demonstrate a genuine vacancy and suitable employment terms. Applicants generally need relevant qualifications or experience, and visa approval is not automatic. New arrivals should confirm salary, accommodation, insurance, working hours and visa responsibilities directly with the hotel before relocating.
