The role typically requires a degree in marketing, communications, hospitality or a related field, together with several years of experience in luxury hospitality, lifestyle, retail or integrated marketing. Strong project management, copywriting, budgeting, partnership and communication skills are expected. The successful candidate should be commercially aware, creative, highly organised and comfortable coordinating agencies, hotels, restaurants and internal stakeholders. Experience developing seasonal campaigns, managing social and digital content, evaluating campaign performance and protecting brand standards would be advantageous. Fluency in English is normally required; Cantonese and Mandarin are valuable for the Hong Kong market.

About the employer

Shangri-La is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The company is recognised for its service culture, distinctive Asian hospitality and portfolio of Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders hotels. Its properties commonly combine accommodation with restaurants, bars, meeting facilities, wellness services and lifestyle experiences. In Hong Kong, Shangri-La operates prominent luxury hotels and serves international travellers, business guests, local residents and event clients. The group places emphasis on personalised service, guest satisfaction, operational excellence and responsible business practices. A brand-focused role would usually work across hotel departments and external partners to deliver consistent campaigns, particularly around major festive periods such as Christmas, New Year and Lunar New Year.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected destination offering strong opportunities in hospitality, luxury retail, finance, technology, events, tourism and professional services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, and Cantonese, English and Mandarin are widely used in business and daily life. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, dense urban convenience, diverse restaurants, shopping, nightlife and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, so employees should compare accommodation, commuting time and benefits carefully; areas such as Kowloon, Hong Kong Island and the New Territories offer different lifestyles and price points. Overseas professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, with approval depending on qualifications, relevant experience and a genuine job offer. Dependants may usually apply for dependant visas. Arrange housing, insurance, banking and tax advice before relocating.
