The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, offering extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail, finance and events. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have particularly active luxury-hospitality markets, while Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah provide growing resort opportunities. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international population; modest dress and respectful behaviour are appreciated. Lifestyle options include beaches, desert excursions, shopping, dining and year-round events, although summers are extremely hot. Employers normally arrange an employment visa, work permit, medical examination and Emirates ID, with sponsorship rules applying. Candidates should confirm housing, transport, insurance, flights, gratuity and working hours before accepting an offer. UAE Nationals may receive additional career-development and Emiratisation support. Living costs vary significantly, with Dubai generally the most expensive.
